While it might look like Greentree have gone quiet on this, the reality is that they have a team working hard on this challenging technical suite of new products. The good news is that all of the technically challenging work is now complete and Greentree are in the final stages of assembling the components before moving into full end-to-end testing.

What's next?

Greentree will ship the standalone version to their partner working group over the next 3 weeks to get controlled feedback. Following on from that they will need customers that want to work with them under the Greentree Beta Program to assess the functionality in the three areas of Inventory, Sales and Job Cost Service.

The Greentree SQL Option
May 2009

Greentree International recently released a standard set of SQL maps that allow Greentree data to be populated to Microsoft SQL Server. To utilise these maps, you do need to purchase the Greentree SQL option, powered by Jade's Relational Population Service (RPS).

Greentree SQL makes it easy for Greentree to interoperate with relational databases for reporting, Business Intelligence (BI) and data warehousing purposes.

For those of you that currently use QlikView, it's interesting to note that it works much faster under Greentree SQL.

Greentree takes Credit Card processing seriously

eCommerce and payment by plastic are such commonplace activities that we tend to take them for granted. However many businesses do not realize the security risks associated with supporting the option to accept payment by credit card.

Greentree International have been investigating the best practices for providing secure credit card processing within Greentree and are in final testing of a large scale development to provide Payment Card Industry (PCI) level compliance for the security of card holder data and credit card processing.

New Report Writer Wizard

Greentree has built a new Report Writer Wizard to enable queries to be generated into a standard Greentree report .

The wizard is launched from within Greentree Explorer, which provides an accessible starting point for the generation of a report. The wizard then prompts the user through the basic requirements of report design. Once the report form has been generated, the Report Designer can then be utilised to provide further enhancement where required.

Note: This new wizard is not a separate module and is available to all Greentree customers on maintenance.

Kitset for Webstore
May 2009

Greentree have now introduced the ability to sell kitset parent inventory items, both stocked and not stocked, as a standard Webstore feature.

The feature inherits all of the component functionality already available within the Sales Order module, such as the ability to substitute components, change the quantity required for a component, adherence of mandatory components, thereby providing the same level of flexibility available within normal Greentree data entry.
